Emily Templeton Attorney At Law

Emily Templeton is a lawyer for those who struggle to get representation – the underdog. She is currently a managing attorney of the Underdog Law Office Pro Bono Tenant Rights Legal Clinic

Emily provides legal assistance to those who would otherwise be unable to afford an attorney, including low-income, disabled, and elderly clients. She also supports victims of sexual harassment, sexual assault, and discrimination as a legal advocate

Licensed to practice in the state of Oregon, Federal, and Bankruptcy Court, Emily was also admitted to the California State Bar in 2024. She earned her juris doctorate from Lewis & Clark Law School in 2021, along with a degree in Sociology from Portland State University in 2017.

Emily’s legal career began in consumer protection, starting out as a law clerk and later as an associate. She later joined the section in 2022. Emily has received the Multnomah Bar Association’s Young Lawyer Rookie of the Year Award and the Oregon State Bar’s Public Service Award

Recognized for her outstanding leadership, Emily was accepted into the Oregon State Bar’s Leadership Institute. The initiative is a competitive program designed for attorneys with nine or fewer years in practice. It fosters legal professionals who serve Oregon’s diverse communities to improve the future of the bar with their leadership skills.

Now she is an active member of the Oregon Trial Lawyers Association, the National Association of Consumer Advocates, and the American Association for Justice. Committed to advocacy and leadership within the legal profession, Emily also serves on the Oregon State Bar’s Consumer Law Section Executive Committee, the Legislative Committee for the Oregon Trial Lawyers Association, and as a delegate for Multnomah County in the Oregon House of Delegates

Outside of her legal work, Emily enjoys intermediate calligraphy and chess. She also enjoys spending time with her partner and their four cats. Later this year (2025), they are expecting to welcome a Bernese Mountain Dog puppy into the family.
